Cardigan river & food festival 2012
Cardigan’s River & Food Festival takes place on Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 August 2012. The festival will be held at Cardigan’s Quay Street car park, next to the River Teifi. The festival attracts around 8,000 visitors, with more than 70 food, drink and crafts exhibitors.
Powys substation and pylons site to be announced
The preferred site for a controversial electricity substation in Powys and the route for over 100 high voltage pylons will be unveiled later.
Opponents say the substation and the pylons, to service wind farms, will disfigure the countryside.
GM crop scientists win $10m grant from the Gates Foundation
