Welsh Government accused of ‘misleading’ public over air pollution
The Welsh Government has been accused of “misleading” the Welsh public on the extent of air pollution in Wales after figures appeared to contradict its claim the situation was improving.
Environmental campaigners said that while the Welsh Government claimed air quality in Wales was “continuing to improve”, the actual levels of several potentially harmful pollutants were rising.
Super dairy plan in Powys rejected by councillors
Plans for a controversial “super dairy” with 1,000 cows at a farm have been rejected by Powys councillors.
The vote is the latest twist in the debate about the dairy near Welshpool, which councillors had backed last year.
A protest was held outside the meeting against how livestock will be kept inside for 250 days of the year.

South Wales Land Developments deal: Auditor general steps up probe
The public spending watchdog has stepped up an investigation into the sale of publicly-owned land worth more than £20m.
Sixteen parcels of land dotted around Wales were bought by a company based in Guernsey.
The auditor general for Wales, Huw Vaughan Thomas, said an initial probe raised a number of questions that warrant further in-depth investigation.
